Berlin JazzFest 2010 – Goes Europe!
preface
(based on Berlinerfestspiele press realise )
Jazz Fest in Berlin is a Meeting Point for international musicians for over 40 years now.
This year edition took place from 3 to 7 November and as always supposed to be much
beloved 5 days tour de force venue on the city events calendar – long awaited by every
jazz lover .This year edition brought a vast amount of events to the fans and as had been announced by Mr. Nils Landgren himself ,(an artistic director of the festival since 2001 )
is done under leading motto „ MADE IN EUROPE „.
„With 23 events, more than 30 jazz ensembles and roughly 250 musicians the recent festival focuses on the colourful varieties of European jazz in a multi-faceted five-day programme”.
Besides Haus der Berliner Festspiele, clubs A-Trane and Quasimodo, Hotel Savoy Berlin and Jazz-Institute Berlin’s Georg-Neumann-Saal at Einsteinufer had been the venues for JazzFest Berlin 2010.
As in previous years, all concerts had been recorded and /or simulcasted by ARD, German public radio.
So, here is how the complete programme was looking like :
Next I will report all venues I had a chance to be a part of ,as like all can easy spot going throw the list ‘ the timetable was really busy and it was hardly possible to be everywhere.
But this is a reality of almost every festival and hopefully we all have a freedom of choice .
